Native Company Instruments has announced the release of NOIRE, a new Kontakt instrument that captures the signature piano sound of composer and pianist Nils Frahm. The instrument – which includes both clean and felt versions of the Yamaha CFX 9 concert grand show – was carefully selected from the rich Saal 3 environment at Berlin’s Funkhaus recording complex. SIGNATURE SOUND
Experience the signature piano sound of composer and pianist Nils Frahm. This is the sound of a unique concert grand piano, selected by the artist, individually intonated and complemented by a felt damper. We captured the piano in its natural habitat – the environment of Saal 3 in Berlin’s famous Bauhaus-designed Funkhaus recording complex. The result is a unique, intense and memorable instrument with its own atmosphere.
CLEAN AND FELT
What sound do you need for your next production? You have two here to choose from. The clean version provides a clean, clear piano sound. The felt version is a completely separate piece – the same piano, but with a felt moderator between the hammers and strings, creating a gentle tone with reduced attack. You can shape the sound of both by adjusting attack, release, resonance, overtones, velocity curve, temperament and more.
