Soniccouture – Estey Reed Organ v1.1.0 (KONTAKT)

The organ we recorded appears to be a high-topped salon organ dating from around the early 19th century. As you might expect, it is played by alternately depressing the two pedals to force air through the reed mechanism. It takes a certain technique and a lot of effort to keep a strong, even tone of the instrument.

We recorded the Estey Organ with the rear panel removed, which gave a more direct sound and minimized the significant noise from the pedal. We have included a separate pedal noise that can be mixed (or not) for more realism.

The dashboard features authentic controls for every organ stop, as well as realistic touches like adjustable pedal sounds and clumsy keystrokes. The sound can be further shaped using the Attack/Release controls, velocity, and filters. A custom convolution reverb processor completes the set.
