There seem to be two types of mixing engineers: those who own a couple of original devices inspired by this plugin and those who want to. I cannot give you the original, but I can give you my distorted view of it.
To begin with, I tweaked the distortion to make it more blurry because I really like dirt and grime. I added a 250Hz HPF sidechain option that leaves all low frequencies uncompressed, and a 6kHz sidechain “push” to smooth out harsh, aggressive things.
Most compressors push sounds backwards, this one pushes them forward. The original is in every studio for a million dollars, now my version can be in yours.
