What’s New in Earth Edition (1.4.0)
5 new modules:
Levelizer: Level-Rider type module.
Usage options: Control track level with a fader. Use EXT sidechain mode to work relative to an external signal (e.g., a mix).
: SnapForger transient and decay control.
Uses include boosting or softening transients, increasing or decreasing decay, and boosting or attenuating room response.
TiltEQ: Tilt and contour (volume) processor.
Usage options: shaping overall tonal balance and spectral character, adjusting low and high frequencies relative to mids.
Enhancer: Dynamic bass and treble processor.
Use cases: Psychoacoustic boosting of low and high frequencies in quiet passages without harshness or overload in louder parts.
BigBass: sub-bass synthesizer.
Use cases: Low frequency extension or fine-tuning of very low frequencies when additional sub-bass is needed or when the original signal lacks weight.
Features:
22 independent processors, divided into 8 module types (preamps, filters, compressors, EQs, limiters, dynamics modules [expander, ducker, and gate], control modules, and specialty modules) for creating a custom channel strip.
7 dedicated “slots” for adding one module of each type, and 2 flexible slots for inserting modules of any type.
Parameter mapping. Scroll through different compressors and EQs without touching the controls. Find the one you like.
3 different viewing modes (full, resizable, and mini) designed for different workflows and screen sizes.
External sidechain support for each module separately.
Includes Mono and Stereo plug-in versions for different track types.
Latency-free processing.
Over 150 presets developed by leading audio engineers from around the world.
Preamplifiers:
Gain – clean gain with automatic gain control.
Before the 60s – amplification plus emulation of a tube preamplifier.
Until the 70s – amplification plus a discrete preamplifier with a transformer.
Until the 80s – amplification plus a discrete preamplifier without a transformer.
ADC of the 90s – gain plus 12-bit nonlinear analog-to-digital converter.
Filters:
Basic filters are low-pass and high-pass filters with three slope options for each filter.
Professional Filters – Basic filters plus a mid-range filter with five filter types to choose from.
SC Filters – like professional filters, but designed for side chain processing.
Gate/Expander/Daker:
Expander – an expander with built-in sidechain filters and an additional input for sidechain.
Gate – a gate with side chain filters and an additional input for the side chain.
Ducker – a ducker with sidechain filters and an additional input for the sidechain.
Compressors:
Opto Pressor is an optical compressor with an additional input for external side chain.
FET Pressor is a channel-processing version of the PSP FETpressor with an additional input for external sidechain.
VCA Pressor is a VCA compressor designed for processing channels with an additional input for an external sidechain.
old Timer — based on PSP oldTimerME.
Equalizers:
ChannelQ is a general purpose equalizer.
PreQursor is a redesigned version of PSP preQursor for channel processing.
RetroQ is a redesigned and channel-enhanced version of PSP RetroQ.
Limiters:
VCA Lim – in the tape implementation of PSP TwinL.
Opto Lim – in the tape implementation of PSP TwinL.
BrickWall is an example of the BrickWall precision limiter.
Saturator is a specialized module with wide saturation customization options.
Control:
Master controls: fader, width, balance and meter.
Special:
De-esser is a unique noise reduction algorithm.
De-hummer is an algorithm for reducing the hum level.
ReactivEQ [NEW!] is a specialized filter that works as a dynamic equalizer.
