GForce Software – M-Tron MkII v1.2.0 is dedicated to the extremely rare and desirable original dual-manual instruments – the Mellotron MkI/MkII and Chamberlin® Musicmaster.
While the M-Tron Pro IV still focuses on the chromatic sounds of the Mellotron M400 and is likely the first Tron
you’ll want to buy, its sibling, the GForce MkII, offers a unique and exclusive library of specialized instruments for working with rhythms,
accompaniments, and the unique playing styles found on the earlier Mellotron MkI/MkII and Chamberlin models.
Built in the UK in 1963, the dual-manual Mellotron MkI/MkII was designed as the ideal home cinema console.
The 35 notes on the left manual played a combination of 18 rhythms and accompaniments (66 on the GForce M-Tron MkII*), while the 35 notes on the right manual (also 18 notes) played 18 lead sounds (66 on the M-Tron MkII*).
The GForce MkII was designed for composers and producers who want access to the expressive tones of the original instruments with two manuals—the Chamberlin®,
Mellotron® MkI, and MkII. Particular attention was paid to rhythms and accompaniment, reflecting the era from the 1950s to the late 1960s.
