Instantly transition between project stages with just one click.
Editing. The most advanced nonlinear editing tools
The Editing page provides access to the most advanced nonlinear editing tools. With its intuitive interface, dual-screen support, and familiar workflow, DaVinci Resolve is perfect for beginners and will satisfy even seasoned professionals. It’s ideal for large-scale projects, including feature films, television series, streaming programs, commercials, and documentaries. Featuring drag-and-drop editing, context-sensitive trimming, customizable keyboard shortcuts, and a library of titles, transitions, and effects, you’ll have everything you need to manage your media, organize your footage, and work with your timeline.
Assembly. Accelerated task execution
The “Assembly” page is designed for working on short-run projects, including documentaries. Users of all skill levels will appreciate the innovative set of tools for fast editing. Features include a “Source Tape” mode, two timelines, quick content preview, and a well-thought-out workflow. The syncbox and source overwrite feature significantly speed up multi-camera editing and adding cutaways. Each mouse click can perform a specific function, reducing the time spent searching for commands. Furthermore, the scalable interface is a big bonus when using laptops.
Color. The favorite system of Hollywood colorists.
The Color page features cutting-edge Hollywood-grade grading tools, making DaVinci Resolve the most widely used color grading solution for feature films and television series. Its enhanced features will help novice colorists quickly master the application. New sliders will be familiar to anyone familiar with video editing software. They are designed for adjusting contrast, saturation, temperature, midtone detail, and other parameters. A wide range of primary and secondary correction tools is also included, including PowerWindows™ zones, qualifiers, tracking, and HDR support.
Fusion. Visual Effects and Motion Graphics
The Fusion page offers all the necessary functionality for creating cinematic-grade visual effects and broadcast-quality graphics. The node-based workflow allows you to create even the most complex compositions and animations faster than using layers. Fusion includes hundreds of 2D and 3D VFX tools and provides access to splines and keyframes for exceptionally believable images. State-of-the-art point, plane, and 3D tracking, as well as rotoscoping and keying, enable the creation of photorealistic composite content, titles, and 3D volumetric particle systems.
Fairlight. Professional audio processing
Fairlight offers hundreds of audio editing tools. It’s a full-fledged digital audio workstation. Familiar features ensure an efficient creative process and ease the transition from other systems. Fairlight Audio Core supports up to 2,000 tracks, offers real-time equalization and effects. It also features tools for processing sample-based audio tracks, voiceovers, and noise generation. FairlightFX plug-ins allow you to create echo and remove rumble and hiss. The final track can be output in stereo, 5.1, 7.1, and even the latest 3D surround sound formats.
Multimedia and Export. Support for various formats and master copy creation
The software suite contains all the necessary tools for importing, organizing, and exporting footage. While files can be added to bins on the “Assembly” and “Editing” pages, the full suite of tools for sorting content, synchronizing clips, adding metadata, and creating backups by cloning the data recorded on the card is available only on the “Multimedia” page. The “Quick Export” panel allows you to prepare the final version of your video and upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, and Twitter from anywhere in the application. In addition to this functionality, the “Export” page offers a wide selection of encoding formats and enables sequential automatic rendering of large numbers of episodes.
Resolve FX
DaVinci Resolve Studio includes over 100 GPU- and CPU-accelerated Resolve FX plug-ins for adding blur and lighting effects, artifacts and stylization, image restoration, and cosmetic enhancements. The latest version of the application adds 11 additional modules for texture enhancement, detail recovery, 3D, HSL, and luma keying, video conversion, and noise reduction. These plug-ins can also be used to create motion trails and blur, false color, and collages, perfect for picture-in-picture mode and broadcasting virtual choir performances. Additionally, object and dust removal, dead pixel fixing, and film grain simulation have been optimized. A new unified Inspector on the Assemble, Edit, and Fusion pages is now available for animating Resolve FX effects.
DaVinci Neural Engine platform
The new DaVinci Neural Engine platform utilizes cutting-edge technologies based on neural networks, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. This enables features such as facial recognition, object detection, and intelligent framing, as well as time-based effects, resolution upscaling, automatic alignment, and color grading. Compatibility with any operating system and efficient GPU resource allocation ensure unrivaled processing speed and quality, enabling complex and time-consuming tasks to be tackled with simple tools. For example, facial recognition enables sorting, binning, and trimming without manual intervention.
Compatibility with third-party plugins and storage devices
Studios work with a vast array of applications and systems, requiring the most flexible post-production solution. DaVinci Resolve supports any type of storage, from direct-attached drives to NAS nodes and SAN networks. Third-party modules are also supported, including Open FX, VST, and templates for titling and computer graphics. New APIs allow DaVinci Resolve to be quickly integrated into your storage infrastructure. Compatibility with all major video post-production formats and programs is also provided, simplifying file transfers between DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro X, Media Composer, and Premiere Pro.
Joint creativity
