The Mark 79 is based on a 1979 Mark II electric piano with 73 keys from 1979. The first Mark II was identical to the Mark I in terms of sound generation, which means the hammers, hammer tips, teeth, and amplification were the same as the later Mark I models.
However, there is a noticeable difference compared to the earlier Mark I models. I, the prongs were not made of the same material and ended up producing a smoother sound with slightly lower highs and more controlled bass.
Attack and support stats have also changed slightly. All this, added to the changes to the hammer tips, makes the Mark II sound different from the early Mark I and conveys the tones of Chick Corea’s well-known “Forever Return” sound.
