Powered by music theory, not artificial intelligence, this software does not require hours of scribbling MIDI notes one after another to capture a complete musical idea. You hear the music in your head. You just need a starting point that actually sounds like music.
PhraseLab records four parts at once: chords, melody, bass, and arpeggios, each corresponding to the chord being played. Save what you like and create new compositions from scenes that can be arranged and exported in MIDI format.
Each genre is tuned to your ear. Dance tracks stay on track thanks to unconventional accents and rolling basslines. Hip-hop and R&B sound effortless. Melodies are constructed as phrases with a repeating hook. Notes extend beyond the key only when musically justified.
