MPEQ-1 is a powerful EQ plugin based on the legendary MPEQ-1 hardware equalizer. Instead of simply copying the original, the plugin brings its unique analog-style processing into the digital world while adding several modern features.
The EQ offers flexible filter shapes, a wide range of Q settings, versatile filtering options, and the unique Vari-Phase mode found in the original hardware. Every band also has its own saturation stage, giving you much more control over the character of your sound.
You can add warmth and harmonic color to specific frequency ranges without affecting the rest of the signal. For example, you can saturate the highs while keeping the low end clean, add character to the low mids, or push the fundamental frequencies of drums to make them stand out.
The plugin also includes a dedicated distortion section where you can adjust the amount and style of distortion independently for each EQ band. A detailed RTA provides high-resolution frequency monitoring, especially in the low end, and you can control the EQ directly from the analyzer or the graphical interface.
With the same core controls as the original hardware plus modern digital enhancements, MPEQ-1 offers a flexible combination of precise equalization, saturation, and distortion for mixing and sound shaping.
