Mastering is one of the most important parts of the music production process. It is a unique art, and for 25 years WaveLab has been the number one choice for professionals. The universal Steinberg WaveLab audio editor is a powerful tool for professional editing, restoration of audio files, editing high-resolution sound recordings.
The software has a wide range of users – from amateurs to professional sound recording and is distinguished by the highest sound quality. The editor runs on 64-bit Windows operating systems with standard MIDI controllers such as Steinberg CI, CMC, CC121.
In its functionality, WaveLab surpasses many programs for processing audio information. The editor provides fast conversion of audio files due to batch processing, creation of backup copies and formation of playlists, development of author’s projects for Audio CD and DVD, as well as a unique opportunity to add sound effects to an audio file directly at the moment of its playback. The open architecture of the program allows users to supplement it with new useful functions.
Steinberg has released an updated version of its audio editing software, which includes many new features.
It is noted that the main innovation of Wavelab 12 is the ability to launch the audio editor as a plug-in in ARA-compatible DAWs such as Cubase, Nuendo, Reaper or Studio One. In addition, there is now visualization of audio signals in several colors corresponding to the spectral content, as well as automatic addition of transition markers, which allows you to snap a selection to transition points for faster navigation. Among other things, there are now improved functions for exchanging audio with other applications with the ability to transfer any audio range from Wavelab to any other software (there are no size or other restrictions).
Among other changes and improvements: all standard editing actions can now be automatically linked to crossfades; automatic scaling of the waveform to peaks; synchronized navigation through audio files and editing; automatic volume matching of reference tracks with audio editing output and vice versa for accurate A/B comparison; a new startup assistant; a new built-in ASIO driver for Windows and much more. It is noted that the Pro version of the program also comes with a host of new plug-ins, including: Black Valve and VoxComp compressors, a Raiser limiter and a pair of Pultec EQ emulations.
