The market for plug-ins for wavetable synthesizers is booming, that’s a fact. Virtually every synthesizer plugin manufacturer has their own in the market. Serum, Massive X, Ableton Wavetable, Pigments, Nave are just a few of those that have been released in recent years.
Now the Hexachords, who are actually known as the MIDI plugin specialists, have just released their own wavetable synthesizer called the Orb Synth. In fact, part of the new Orb Producer Suite 2.0, but now released as a standalone plugin.
Orb Synth is a synthesizer with two oscillators and several preset wave tables. No import or wavetable editor, a bit of a shame. We then have two multimode filters (3 types) to further shape the sound.
In terms of modulation, it has two main LFOs and two envelopes, one of which is also used to control volume. You can simply set the modulation of the parameters in the matrix on the right side. The instrument includes the oscillator amplifier, position, frequency, both filter frequencies, and the velocities of both LFOs.
