York Audio MTCH 212 ESD-V2 is based on a Matchless™ ESD 2×12 cabinet, equipped with Celestion M25 and H30 speakers, custom-made for Matchless™ amplifiers. This cabinet was purchased and subjected to extensive A/B testing to compare it to our other ESD cabinets. This was a clear winner, sounding better, feeling more “alive” and being more inspiring to play.
The tone has a rich midrange and warm low-mids with smooth highs that ring without being abrasive. Equally at home with single-coil pickups, humbuckers, and semi-hollowbody guitars, this cabinet excels at producing clean, edge-to-breakup, mid-boost tones that really sing.
