Despite the fact that the laws of thermodynamics have long ruled out the possibility of a perpetual motion machine, EZkeys Hybrid Harp almost invented it. The laws of physics may still apply, but the fact remains that this kind of “machine” has an innate fortitude that seems to ensure that you never run out of ideas. It literally works and feeds on you and your own imagination.
EZkeys Hybrid Harp features five separate instruments, all layered, textured and rich with different characteristics to create unique and never before heard hybrids of sounds. The undisputed star of the group is the iconic Style 23 harp. In addition to this, a traditional Swedish nickelharpa (or “violin with keys”), two harmoniums, a bowed glockenspiel and a set of ocarinas were selected. Taken together, this seemingly strange group of instruments, which, from a logical point of view, has nothing to do with the earth, sharing the same sound space, results in what can be described as an extremely mysterious sonic universe of plucked, percussion, soaring , airy, beautiful and unique slightly discordant sounds.
