Obsession lets you fully experience the power of a great polyphonic vintage synthesizer. It combines expert modeling of voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), voltage-controlled filters (VCFs), and voltage-controlled amplifiers (VCAs) with complex individual tone control that has never been implemented in such detail before.
Installation
1. UNINSTALL/ENSURE ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS BEFORE INSTALLING!
- Install
- Do not close the activation window
- Open the key generator program (run as administrator)
- Paste the serial number into the activation window.
- Click “Offline Activation”
- Paste the confirmation code into the key generator program
- Click “Create”
- Copy and paste the response code into the “Offline Activation” window.
- DONE!

Obsession is a powerful emulation of a vintage synthesizer. It all starts with a classic synth design consisting of two oscillators, a switchable two-/four-pole low-pass filter, two ADSR envelope generators, and two low-pass filters, all meticulously modeled in hardware.
An extensive modulation matrix, two Step controls for creating powerful rhythmic sequences, and a high-quality effects chain significantly expand the instrument’s capabilities. Two parts with Single/Dual/Split modes provide a wealth of additional options for experienced sound designers. Modern features such as support for Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression (MPE) and Native Kontrol Standard (NKS) round out this powerful plugin.
Obsession features an easy-to-use, scalable (Retina-ready) interface with direct access
to all important settings.
Individual tone control is perhaps the most important feature of Obsession: each voice board can be noticeably different from the others in many ways, creating that organic, lively sound that vintage analog polysynths are famous for.
For example, turning the Cutoff Frequency potentiometer to the left will lower the cutoff frequency for that particular voice, while turning it to the right will raise the cutoff frequency. Similarly, turning the Amp Release potentiometer to the left will slightly shorten the release time for that particular voice, while turning it to the right will increase the release time. Obsession even includes additional parameters, such as oscillator and filter scaling, similar to those found on real hardware voice boards.
The rear panel of the Obsession houses a high-quality effects section, a modulation matrix, and an LFO Steps control.
Mirko Ruta’s high-quality reverb, with its optional Shimmer effect, takes pads, leads, and atmospheric sounds to a new level. Stereo delay and Chorus/Ensemble effects can be used to further enhance the sound. The new Organic knob simulates temperature-dependent vibrations, elevating expressiveness and sound quality to new heights.
To significantly expand the modulation capabilities of Obsession, you can use the powerful LFO Steps control to create rhythmic, tempo-synchronized modulation of virtually any audio parameter. You can also use freehand drawing to create arbitrary LFO shapes.
