IK Multimedia announced the release of MixBox, a “series 500” virtual rack plug-in for Mac and PC.
The MixBox features 70 studio processors and creative effects from IK T-RackS, AmpliTube and SampleTank, plus four new reverb algorithms. It integrates these processors into a convenient and intuitive channel strip layout that can be used as a plug-in for any DAW or standalone. View the complete collection of gear and effects here.
Users can create and store their own channel strips in an 8-slot “rack” that can be used in all major DAWs. With drag-and-drop routing and a range of advanced controls such as wet / dry mixing, side chain and single processor gain, users can assemble even complex processor chains in seconds.
The Standalone MixBox offers a complete, easy-to-use mixing experience for almost any situation, with eight separate racks of eight processors each.
Audio can be fed to the computer from any source such as a digital mixer or audio interface, and the MixBox’s main panel will offer control of all eight racks at once. Users can load rack presets, add or remove processors from each rack, activate side-chain, and control I / O and gain for each rack — all from a single panel.
Beginners will benefit from hundreds of high-quality effects and presets and over 600 presets, while advanced users can speed up their workflow using a custom format to instantly save and recall entire chains of custom effects.
