Gentle winds. Blueprint: Gentle Winds is a collection of experiments conducted for Dan Keane’s upcoming Petrichor library. Recordings of a variety of saxophones and recorders were then combined with the atmospheric sound design of Fracture Sounds to form a library of airy wind textures.
When brainstorming ideas for his latest library, Dan Keene began recording a set of brass instruments in a dry room to get an idea of what the instruments were capable of and how they would be translated into samples. The experiments were successful, and eventually led to the creation of the wisp articulation, the cornerstone of Petrichor: Earthy Winds.
The team at Fracture Sounds took these samples and processed them to create an airy, atmospheric layer that can be soloed in the interface. Add texture to your music with Blueprint: Gentle Winds.
Interface
- Control dynamic layers with the Modulation Wheel/CC1
- Add modulation separately to the saxes and recorders, enhancing the subtle dynamic movement between each instrument
- Control the overall level of the built-in reverb with the additional settings by pressing the gear
- Adjust the level of the atmospheric layer and press S to solo it
- Adjust the attack and sample values
• Switch between sustain and decay. The decay is used for each note, allowing you to create undulating sounds - Control the volume difference between soft and loud dynamics
Features
- Petrichor’s wisp articulation
- Dedicated atmospheric layer that can be soloed
- Sound-shaping controls
- Simple, easy-to-use interface
