SideMinder ME is an improved version of our original SideMinder plugin that offers up to 3 zoom bands and stereo width control, as well as many other required functions. SideMinder ME can create almost “3D” quality stereo mixes while remaining mono-compatible.
SideMinder ME (Mastering Edition) is the “big brother” of SideMinder, the famous dynamic stereo width amplifier. SideMinder ME can be used to increase (or decrease) the width of stereo mixes, while remaining MONO COMPATIBLE by automatically limiting stereo correlation. SideMinder ME dynamically controls the width of the stereo to constantly maintain a wide signal, giving the sound almost “3D” quality. SideMinder ME is not a compressor and will not change the dynamics of the mix, only the width of the stereo. SideMinder ME does not add environmental effects to the sound, but rather provides stereo information that already exists in the mix (i.e. SideMinder ME will not generate a stereo signal from a mono source).
SideMinder ME provides up to 3 bands of independent stereo widening and dynamic stereo widening with many additional features, including:
• Mono / Stereo listening mode.
• Normal / delta listening mode.
• Measurement of correlation before / after the process.
• “Advanced” control panel with user settings for the restriction coefficient and the bias threshold.
• Extended range of speed limiter limiter (compared to SideMinder).
• Band Trim level controls.
• SideMinder ME is recommended for use on stereo buses and end mixers for both mixing and mastering.
