discoDSP Discovery Pro v9.5.0 is a virtual analogue of the Nord Lead that you can use in your DAW. It features four layers, twelve oscillators, and 16 filter types, including Nord Lead Zero Delay Feedback, Moog Ladder, and Oberheim SEM. Full Nord Lead SysEx import and export allows you to use existing patches in both directions. Loads the contents of the SFZ, WAV, SF2, DWB, Bliss, and Nord Sample Library libraries into the wavetable, and PADSynth resynthesizes any sound into dynamic pads. An arpeggiator, pan modulation, stereo delay, gate, and step modulation complete the toolset.
Discovery Pro expands on Discovery, delivering 128 voices processed on every processor core, Nord Lead 2 unison with nine modeled detune modes, a user mode where you can manually position each voice, and an oscillator section that surpasses the Nord capabilities. This includes JP-8080 Super 7 SuperSaw for transient leads, Deep FM with the same depth as the Nord Lead 2, pink noise, and parabolic wave. Analog drift and adaptive filter slope preserve the sound of patches, while up to 16x oversampling ensures pure reverb. And over 5,000 updated presets in 100 banks.
It is designed to be played, not just programmed. MPE and polyphonic aftertouch allow each note to have its own pressure, bend, and slide, while aftertouch morphing allows any knob to move based on your playing pressure. LFOs move across layers using graphic envelopes that you draw rather than tweak. Percussion mode transforms the bank into ten drum kits. The HDR interface on compatible displays is enhanced with an oscilloscope and Fast Fourier Transform function, and the GUI is scalable with multiple skins. Octave splitting with preset zones, MIDI learning via XML templates for popular hardware, MTS-ESP microtuning, undo and redo, a standalone app, and many other features are also included.
