Dolby Atmos Support
Mix in multichannel Dolby Atmos formats with additional support for playback and recording of images, object-based audio, and panning metadata. Monitor the spatial mix on speakers up to 9.1.6 or listen binaurally on any standard headphones. Apply your mix to standard formats and immersive audio platforms like Apple Music and Tidal using Digital Performer’s built-in Dolby Atmos renderer.
AI-Powered Stem Separation
Allows you to extract individual instruments and vocals from a full mix in one operation, including drums, bass, vocals, strings, and brass instruments for an ensemble. Additional options allow you to create a selected string mix, a mix with removed strings, or both.
Arrangement Strip
Create sections to organize and arrange or re-arrange your music. Drag sections on the timeline to change their location, as well as all the track information under each section. Easily duplicate, move, reorder, trim, and delete sections.
Improved Track Freezing
Freeze tracks with one click, without adding a new separate track for the frozen audio. Continue mixing tracks while they are frozen. Align frozen tracks to freeze them permanently.
MIDI Controller Main Menu
Select an external MIDI controller or multiple MIDI controllers as your primary MIDI input device to control MIDI input and filter out unwanted MIDI from connected devices.
Hover Effects
Hover effects and animations make navigating the DP12 interface more dynamic.
MusicXML Import
Digital Performer can now import and export MusicXML files. This allows full interoperability with third-party notation software such as Dorico, Sibelius, and MuseScore.
Improved Drag-and-Drop File Import
When dragging external audio files or Standard MIDI Files onto the Track View or Sequence Editor timeline, you can target an existing track or the space between tracks, creating a new track or tracks between them. You can also select a specific location on the timeline.
Tags and Search Improvements
Tags serve as keywords for searching tracks and sections. Create as many tags as you need and assign them to tracks and sections. You can then use the tags to search and sort tracks and sections.
Improved Search
The search fields in track and section lists now include a menu that allows you to search by titles, tags, comment text, or any combination of these.
Search in the Settings Window
Quickly find and change settings and options. Enter any keyword to instantly filter the current view.
Search for Commands by Keyboard Shortcut
The Commands window now lets you search for commands by keyboard shortcut. This makes it easy to find a command assigned to a specific key combination.
Key Sets in the Commands Window
Key sets allow you to quickly switch between different sets of keyboard shortcuts depending on a specific task. Set up your own key sets for each task and quickly switch between them.
Track Presets
A track preset can include any track settings, from input and output settings and EQ to plugin chains. Drag and drop presets from the Content Browser to apply them to existing tracks or create new ones. DP12 provides dozens of presets to help you get started with vocals, drums, bass, guitar, and more.
Custom Fade and Crossfade Presets
Save and recall custom fade and crossfade presets. Drag and drop fade presets from the Content Browser.
Expanded AAF and OMF Support
Improved compatibility with new projects created according to the latest standard.
Large Counter Window Improvements
Resize the large counter window both vertically and horizontally. Resize the counter text independently of the window size.
Updated Surround Sound Formats
DP12 now supports all modern standard surround sound formats, including 7.1.2 and 9.1.6.
