RealTele is based on the guitar that started it all—the world’s first mass-produced solidbody electric guitar. Seven decades later, its sound is still unmistakable: bright, open, and expressive, with a distinctive snap and bite that no other can match. Muddy Waters brought it to the blues. Keith Richards made it a mainstay of rock. That’s the character we set out to capture.
We recorded it as a live instrument—without carefully selected takes, without embellishment: the buzz of the strings, the percussive attack, and the raw detail that distinguishes an instrument with history from one that only sounds technically correct. Twelve velocity layers per fret. The mid-position timbre, recorded as the actual interaction of the pickups, not the sum of two digital signals. Every detail that distinguishes realistic sound from the real thing.

Installation
- Uninstall previous versions
. 2. Install the plugin and register it using WM_MusicLab. - Install MusicLab.Guitarix.v1.38.1.1997-R2R.
- Place the “Tele_0AC44.mln” sound library file (6.52 GB) in any permanent storage location and point to it when launching the plugin.
- Install MusicLab.Virtual.Midi.Driver if you use it .
The RealTele is two distinct instruments built on the same iconic design—essentially two guitars in one. One is crafted for airiness and distinctive tone, the other for focus and richness. Together, they encompass virtually every aspect of this guitar, from vintage sheen to dense, modern drive.
RealTele Classic is the sound of a golden era: open, ringing highs, a distinctive click from the bridge pickup, and a slightly muted midrange that gives the guitar a crisp, clear sound. It’s country slang and Chicago blues, classic blues and rock ‘n’ roll from the 1950s to ’70s—a sound that underpins half the history of popular music. Expressive and dynamic, it stands out from the crowd.
The RealTele Modern is the same guitar, redesigned for modern production. The highs are smoother, the low mids are fuller, and the response is tighter and more controlled, but the instrument’s character remains unchanged. At high gain, the sound remains clear and focused, while in clean parts, it’s more rounded and composed. This version is suitable for rock, pop, and heavier genres—for parts that need to fit into a dense mix, where focus is more important than openness.
What sets RealTele apart from other
fret samplers is its 12 sample layers per fret. Each fret is recorded in 12 dynamic layers, from the lightest touches to the sharpest strikes—a wide, smooth dynamic range that accurately mirrors your playing.
Dynamics at your fingertips. The Velo tab shows which layer is currently playing. The default velocity curve is linear and distributes your playing evenly across the entire range. You can also mute the loudest (Hard) or quietest (Soft) layers—separately for solos, plucking, mute, and palm mute—depending on the response you require for your part.
A true golden mean. Both single-coil pickups are, as always, sampled separately, but on a physical Telecaster, playing them simultaneously isn’t just the sum of the two sounds: they interact and change each other’s character. So, we’ve dedicated the middle position (Both) as a separate pickup combination so you can achieve a sound that sounds distinct, not like a digital blend.
The tone control is just like on a real guitar. It features a high-pass filter that smooths out the high frequencies. Because it’s positioned before the effects chain, it shapes the sound just like a tone control on a real guitar: a fuller sound on high-gain presets and a softer tone on clean ones.
New strumming mechanism. RealTele uses our new strumming mechanism, first introduced in RealGMS. It provides smoother transitions between chords, more realistic string sound, and a feel that responds naturally to your playing.
Where RealTele comes in handy:
You play keyboards, not guitar. The track requires a real electric guitar, but you don’t have a guitarist. You want to play the part yourself, on keyboards, and have it sound like a Telecaster, not like a synthesizer pretending to be a guitar.
You write and produce in a DAW. Songs, demos, beats. You need a believable guitar part that can be quickly created from chords and rhythm patterns or played directly in the DAW and saved as editable MIDI.
You perform live. On stage, solo or in a band, you need real-time guitar parts—the iconic stage guitar at your fingertips, without the need for a second guitarist.
You work in genres that are typical for the Telecaster. Country and Americana, blues and rock ‘n’ roll are on the vintage side; classical and indie rock, pop, and modern high-gain guitar sounds are on the other. RealTele offers both options: Classic for vintage sounds, Modern for contemporary production.
You play guitar. You still reach for it: to record a part faster than you can mix, when your hands can’t keep up with the idea, when a track requires a Tele you don’t have, or when you need a clean take.
A raw guitar is only half the sound. The other half is the amp and effects, and tweaking these parameters is a challenge even for guitarists. That’s what our preset
library is for: 350 ready-to-use sounds inspired by legendary artists and recordings that have shaped popular music. Each one represents a complete setup (amp, cabinet, and effects) that can be accessed with a single click, and the number is constantly growing. Nothing is a “black box”: every parameter remains open, so a preset is either a ready-made sound or a starting point for your own. We recommend using the open-source Guitarix.vst virtual guitar amp (included in RealTele) as a reliable and versatile solution for using these presets. Recording
an authentic guitar part requires more than just samples; it requires a variety of guitar-specific techniques, all of which are simulated in RealTele. Whether you’re playing live or programming a digital audio workstation, these techniques can be controlled using dedicated gestures, switches, velocity, modulation wheels, sustain pedals, aftertouch, MIDI CCs, DAW parameter automation, and any combination thereof.
Chord Sounding:
The guitar’s chord sound is unique to its construction and must be reproduced to achieve authentic chord sounds. Our patented technology provides accurate automatic reproduction of guitar chord sounds for 30 chord types across all existing inversions, extensions, and alterations.
Rhythm Patterns:
To record authentic accompaniment, most session guitarists meticulously study the characteristic rhythm parts of a given style. We’ve created a massive rhythm library consisting of 1,250 patterns. It can be easily used to quickly create guitar accompaniment parts in a DAW or in our built-in Song sequencer.
Realism:
Sophisticated humanization algorithms modify samples, playing technique, control parameters, synchronization, and string plucking to achieve maximum realism in guitar parts. This helps bring digital guitar modeling as close as possible to the analog recording of a top-class session guitarist.
