Norton VPN Plus, Norton VPN Ultimate (with protection) – norton_ultra_vpn_online_setup.exe
Norton VPN Standard (without protection) – norton_vpn_online_setup.exe
Main features and benefits
Encrypt your data with a virtual private network that does not log, track or store your online activities
Selecting a region at the city level allows you to connect to specific cities in some major countries. You can also use the Recent section to see the most recent VPN regions you have connected to.
Pause VPN allows you to pause the VPN connection for the required time and resume it automatically.
Double VPN is an advanced security feature that routes your internet traffic through two VPN servers, providing greater privacy and anonymity.
IP Changer automatically changes your IP address regularly to prevent tracking, avoid targeted advertising, and increase anonymity. It increases your anonymity by masking your real IP address and making it more difficult for third parties to track and profile you. The IP address will automatically change every 30 seconds.
Smart TV support helps you protect your online privacy, secure sensitive data, and access geo-restricted content.
The VPN widget allows you to manage your VPN from your home screen without opening the app. You can easily connect, disconnect, or pause your VPN connection with a single tap on the widget.
Blocking ad trackers helps block advertisers’ tracking technologies to reduce the number of targeted ads that follow you around the web.
Accessing local devices with a VPN allows users to access devices and services on their local network without routing that traffic through the VPN.
The kill switch helps automatically disconnect your device from the Internet if your VPN connection is lost, ensuring that your IP address and online activity are not accidentally exposed.
Wi-Fi Security on Android and iOS scans the wireless network your device is connected to to detect common network threats, such as man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks.
Norton VPN Browser Extension Ad Blocker improves your online experience by blocking unwanted ads in your PC browser.
Acceptable Advertising in the Norton VPN browser extension allows advertising that is tailored to specific criteria, user-friendly, and unobtrusive.
Split tunneling for Windows and Android: Allows you to choose which content to route through the VPN while using direct Internet access for other, less sensitive content.
The region optimized for P2P connection will help you easily connect to your P2P partners to transfer files with one click.
Auto-connect allows you to automatically turn on the VPN whenever you connect to a public network, keeping your data more secure and private.
Start at startup : Starts the VPN services every time the system boots.
Enable alerts for Android and iOS: Notifies you when you connect to an unsecured or hacked network.
Malware protection provides real-time protection against malware, phishing, ransomware and other threats whether you use your devices online or offline, and monitors and blocks dangerous sites to help you stay safe online.
Password Manager lets you create, store and manage passwords, as well as credit card information and other credentials, in your personal digital vault.
Privacy Monitor** scans websites for users to see if your personal information has been exposed. It also allows you to manually opt out of each of these sites to maintain greater privacy. Available and intended for use in the United States and Canada only.

By default, it monitors your email address and takes immediate action. Log in to your account to enter additional information for monitoring.
If you need to quickly bypass the blocking without rebooting, in the form of a corresponding window when calling the menu:
Settings > General > Product tamper protection – disable the green slider in Norton VPN or Norton 360. After
that, go to the folder along the path C: \ Program Files \ Norton \ Suite \ setup and open the config.def file there with Notepad .
Find the parameter ProhibitedCountry = 1 and change 1 to 0, so that it becomes ProhibitedCountry = 0 . Save Ctrl + S.
Immediately after this, geoblocking stops, but this method only works until the next system reboot.
After starting the system and calling the menu, the modified file will be recreated and geoblocking will start working again.
Therefore, for longer-term purposes and the impossibility of recreating the file, you need to boot the OS in Safe Mode,
but instead of changing the config.def file , you need to delete it, creating an empty folder there with the same name config.def .
After rebooting the OS and calling the menu, the config.def.new file will appear there, but it will not lead to geo-blocking.
After the manipulations performed in the first case, you can re-enable the option – Protection against product modification,
without initially disabling which it will not be possible to change or delete the file responsible for geoblocking.
After using the second method, the command menu in the system tray of Norton VPN will become shorter due to the disappearance of
two commands Disable automatic protection and Disable notifications, which will be available in the main menu.
The VPN protocol determines how your device communicates with secure VPN servers to establish a connection. If you are having trouble connecting, we recommend changing the VPN protocol. The toggle allows users to choose between WireGuard, Mimic, or OpenVPN protocols.
Norton VPN automatically selects the VPN protocol that works best for you, or you can manually select your preferred one.
In the Settings window , under VPN Settings, you can select one of the protocols listed below.
Automatic (recommended) : if possible, the WireGuard protocol will be used to connect.
If the connection via the WireGuard protocol fails, the application will automatically switch to the Mimic protocol, which masks the connection, preventing it from being determined that you are using a VPN. In countries where the use of VPN is blocked at the protocol level, including Russia, it is necessary to immediately set a specific protocol from Automatic, otherwise there will be a constant break and switch, and if such a situation occurs, reboot the operating system so that the settings are rewritten and start working according to the specified protocol, which is not subject to blocking.
WireGuard is a modern, open-source protocol known for its speed and simplicity. Using advanced cryptography, it offers secure connections with improved performance.
Mimic is a proprietary, secure, high-speed protocol developed by the experts at Norton. Mimic is designed to make it appear as if you are not using a VPN at all, bypassing firewall restrictions. This can be useful in countries with VPN restrictions, which may block the WireGuard protocol.
OpenVPN is the most established open source protocol, known for its maturity and compatibility with a wide range of platforms.
Mimic Protocol is Gen’s proprietary, lightweight, lightning-fast protocol with industry-standard encryption.
Mimic is a new VPN protocol that differs from other options by disguising itself as an inconspicuous HTTPS connection that you can use to check your email, watch your favorite show, or look up a recipe for dinner. In addition to its encryption capabilities, it requires no additional configuration, consumes less energy, is environmentally friendly, and is capable of high-speed connections and data transfers.
Mimic also has impressive resistance to quantum attacks, which can ultimately help protect users from emerging computer threats. This proprietary protocol is one of the types you can choose from the Norton VPN app, and it’s a strong option. With it, Norton can offer you basic VPN features like anonymous browsing, split tunneling, and bank-grade encryption to make your data unreadable to unauthorized parties like employers, government, and ISPs. This ensures that your online activities remain private and secure, and protects your sensitive information from potential threats while you browse the internet.
Norton has a strict No-Logs VPN Policy. We don’t track, log, or save your browsing activity. This means that even we can’t see what you do online, giving you the greater privacy and peace of mind that comes with reliable VPN software.
