The snare drum occupies the treble register within the orchestral percussion section, known for its distinctive sound produced by the metal wires, or “snares”, attached to the bottom resonance head. In contrast, the bass drum covers the lowest range, playing a vital role in nearly all Western musical genres. The eight concert toms were recorded with 4 different beaters and up to 16 layers. The tambourine is mainly played with the fingers, the palm, or the fist.
