With these seemingly simple parameters, you can create many different sounds. Use Sausage Fattener on one channel with moderate settings as a music compressor. Turn it up loud and you get dirty distortion. But you can also use the plugin on a bus (for example, all drums and bass) or on an entire track as a mastering plugin.
- Fatness: The further you turn the knob, the heavier or richer the sound becomes. But it’s not just that: the envelope of the sound (release time) also changes.
- Color: (Color) – acts as a high-frequency equalizer with the ability to sweep, adding brightness to the sound, a bandpass effect.
- Gain: – Allows the user to either attenuate or boost the signal in the plugin, again in combination with other controls, creating a wide and varied range of results.
