Synplant is a genetic approach to sound design that goes beyond traditional knob-twisting and adjustment, emphasizing exploration and discovery.
Here, your ears guide you through a forest of organic textures and evolving timbres. Please note that when installed, Synplant 2 will replace Synplant version 1. You will not be able to run them both side by side.
If you open a patch or old song created in Synplant version 1, the audio engine will run in “backward compatibility mode” to ensure everything sounds exactly the same as before.
Genopatch creates synth patches from audio recordings, using artificial intelligence to find the optimal synth settings based on your original sample. As the threads in the user interface sprout and grow, they generate patches that increasingly match the selected audio.
Sometimes you get a perfect match, sometimes you get something new and unexpected. This balance of precision and unpredictability makes Genopatch a unique tool for sound research.
Genopatch runs entirely on your local computer, without requiring an Internet connection.
Digging into the Genome
Whether you start with a random sample, an existing patch, or one created in Genopatch, Synplant offers many different ways to create sound. When you’re ready to dig deeper into your patch, you can cut open the sound samples and change their genetic code.
Synplant 2’s intuitive new DNA Editor offers a structured layout with graphical representations for parameters such as envelopes, oscillator types and filters.
Synplant makes it easy to create organic, multi-faceted synth patches, allowing you to play variations of sound using different MIDI notes and speeds. Synplant also features a layer mode for creating rich, multi-dimensional sounds. There are polyphonic and monophonic playing modes, portamento, tempo sync, and more to help you create deep, versatile synth patches that are a joy to play.
Creating your own sounds in Synplant is easy, but hundreds of well-designed patches are included in the box, and even more can be downloaded upon purchase.
