Plugin Alliance – Brainworx bx clipper v1.0.1 VST, VST3, AAX x64

An excellent solution to combat clipping – ease of use and uncompromising sound quality.

Create masters with competitive volume and maintain audio purity:

Brainworx bx_clipper clips waveform peaks above a specified threshold level (Ceiling). This allows you to create mixes that play louder without increasing the peak level. Unlike a limiter, bx_clipper increases volume while avoiding the pumping effect.

It’s your limiter’s new best friend:

Using bx_clipper at the end of the mastering chain – before or after the limiter – will help you create modern and crystal clear mixes that rival the competition in density and volume. bx_clipper picks up where your limiter left off and bridges the gap between loud and super loud.

Choose clipping effects from smooth to sharp:

The clipping mechanism implemented in bx_clipper has two operating modes. FET mode provides smooth and natural sound, while Diode mode provides harsh distortion. Combined with bx_clipper’s Ceiling and Knee controls, FET Mode and Diode Mode allow you to choose from a range of soft and hard clipping effects.

Maximize volume without distortion:

bx_clipper’s Auto Ceiling feature analyzes peaks in the audio signal and automatically sets the plugin’s Ceiling level. The level at which Ceiling is set maximizes perceived loudness while avoiding unwanted distortion. As a result, bx_clipper allows you to create very loud masters without ruining your mix.

Avoid volume offset when comparing with equal volume:

The Auto Trim function implemented in bx_clipper analyzes the root mean square difference between the input and processed signals. Auto Trim automatically adjusts the bx_clipper’s output level and allows for loudness comparisons. It helps deal with summing-related peaks that occur in groups of instruments without throwing off the balance of the mix.

Clipping mid and side frequencies of mixes independently:

Like other Brainworx products, bx_clipper features dual mono and M/S operation modes for advanced stereo control. When working with an unbalanced mix, you can apply different clipping effects to the left and right channels. Create loud masters with clarity using an aggressive Diode mode on the sides and a softer FET in the center of the stereo image.

Analog heat and digital only functions:

By combining analog circuitry with digital design, bx_clipper provides the best of both worlds. Features like Ambience let you listen to information lost during clipping and create unique, creative effects. Another feature of the digital performance is the Wet control, which, when pushed beyond 100%, provides several times the distortion, allowing you to give drums and snares the characteristic flavor of drum synths of the 80s and 90s.

  • Increase volume by cutting waveform peaks. Choose between soft and hard cut.
  • Apply smooth, natural clipping in FET mode.
  • Create sharp distortion with Diode mode.
  • Perform A/B level comparisons using Auto Trim.
  • Listen to information lost during clipping using the Ambience button.
  • Use the full range of soft clipping, avoiding hard clipping with Auto Ceiling.
  • Independent processing of left-right and middle channels
  • Oversampling up to 32x.
  • Peak and waveform meters.
  • Scalable and color-customizable user interface.
