Orchestral Tools – Berlin Woodwinds Soloists 1 (KONTAKT)

5 expressive solo instruments for captivating melodies and phrases . Remarkably played with a close, intimate sound, these are perhaps the best woodwinds that aren’t actually made of wood.

Sonically, these instruments are designed to be flexible: they can take center stage or sound close and intimate, depending on what you want. They also perfectly complement the ensembles from our main Berlin Woodwinds library.

Each of the musicians is a real soloist – from Yong Hee Kwak on oboe and English horn to Jelki Weber on flute. And you can easily control this performance – three legato modes allow you to play smooth melodies, but still offer ample opportunities for detailed editing later.

These solo instruments complement the ensembles in the main Berlin Woodwinds collection. The direct, intimate sound of the solo instruments works well with the more spacious ensemble sound of the main hall, while still giving the soloists the attention they deserve. We made sure that playability, techniques and levels are the same for all Berlin Woodwinds wind instruments – in fact, for the entire Berlin Series.
