The KORG Collection is a collection of software synthesizers that meticulously and accurately recreate the authentic sound and feel of legendary KORG synthesizers, relevant today and into the future.
The KORG Collection project began with analog synthesizers like the MS-20, Polysix, and Mono/Poly, and gradually evolved to include digital synthesizers
like the world’s most popular synthesizer—the legendary microKORG, classic M1 and TRITON workstations, and physical modeling synthesis from the renowned Prophecy.
The KORG Collection also includes the ARP ODYSSEY and ARP 2600, revived by KORG for the 21st century.
In 2025, KORG added three legendary instruments to the KORG collection (TRINITY, PS-3300, SGX-2) – each an icon of its era,
celebrated for its unique presence and featured on countless classic tracks over the decades.
VOX Super Continentalpic
picOriginally conceived in the early 1960s as a more portable and affordable alternative to tonewheel organs, the VOX Continental, with its distinctive sound and striking red-and-black design, soon became a staple of British Invasion bands. The Continental’s vibrant tone and bold character paired perfectly with jangly guitars and cut effortlessly through the mix both on stage and in the studio.
The KORG Collection VOX Super Continental plug-in began as a recreation of the beloved and meticulously maintained Super Continental, personally owned by the lead software engineer, including details such as the behavior of hundreds of individual key contacts. We then expanded the model to include other features, such as an extremely rare percussion section, to accurately capture the Super Continental’s sound. Now, we proudly present the most accurate VOX Continental software instrument available!

Originally conceived in the early 1960s as a more portable and affordable alternative to tonewheel organs, the VOX Continental’s distinctive sound – and its sharp red-and-black design – soon made it a staple of “British Invasion” bands. The Continental’s bright timbre and brash attitude fit perfectly with jangly guitars, and easily cut through the mix on stage and in the studio.
Production stopped around 1970, but a new generation of ska, garage, punk, and new wave bands adopted the instruments in the ’70s and ’80s. Weathered and worn through decades of use, and none-too-stable to begin with, the instruments tend to be charmingly out of tune. As the key contacts aged, each note started to sound slightly different. With this unique voice, a combination of electric tone and vintage character, the Vox Continental is a fixture of stage and studio – particularly in indie music.
The KORG Collection VOX Super Continental plug-in began as a re-creation of a beloved, carefully maintained Super Continental personally owned by the primary software engineer, including such details as the behavior of hundreds of individual key contacts. We then expanded the model to incorporate other features, such as the extremely rare percussion section, in order to get the best possible representation of the Super Continental sound. We’re now proud to present the most accurate VOX Continental software instrument available anywhere!

PS-3300pic
picIntroduced in 1977, the original PS-3300 was a unique and magnificent instrument. A semi-modular predecessor to the MS-20, it boasted 144 independent synthesizer tones—three for each of its 48 keys. Renowned for its powerful, rich, and distinctive sound, it captivated pioneering musicians such as Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, Keith Emerson, and Aphex Twin. With fewer than 50 original synthesizers produced, it is arguably the rarest and most sought-after synthesizer ever made.
In 2024, KORG announced a new limited-edition reissue of the PS-3300: expertly handcrafted, impressive in sound, and in every way comparable to the original. Naturally, it also features modern enhancements, such as expanded MIDI control and program storage. Now, KORG is pleased to introduce the first true software reimagining of this legendary synthesizer: the KORG Collection PS-3300.

In 2024, KORG announced the new limited-edition PS-3300 reissue: artfully hand-crafted, physically imposing, and with a sound every bit as distinctive as the original. Of course, it also features modern improvements, such as extensive MIDI control and program storage. Now, KORG is pleased to present the first true re-creation of this legendary synthesizer in software: the KORG Collection PS-3300.
As one of the very first polyphonic synths, the PS-3300 did practically everything differently. It boasts unorthodox filters, octave-divider oscillators, distinctive envelopes, unconventional modulation, a three-layer design, and a semi-modular patch panel. Its three-band resonators not only generated vocal and string timbres, but could also be modulated for phaser, wah, and other dynamic effects. Variations in analog components meant that each of the 144 voices had its own quirks, creating rich, organic, and not-entirely-predictable sounds.
KORG’s proprietary CMT technology faithfully reproduces the whole of this experience – unlike any other software instrument.
EP-1pic
picThe EP-1 electric piano sound engine first appeared in 2011 in the flagship KORG KRONOS workstation synthesizer. It utilizes the latest MDS (Multi-Dimensional Synthesis) technology, which delivers smooth and dynamic timbre changes that precisely match the strength of keystrokes, something previous sample playback methods could not achieve. In 2017, it was introduced in the top-of-the-line Korg Grandstage stage piano, and in 2021, a new electric piano model was added to the NAUTILUS workstation. This version of the plugin now features the latest EP-1 sound engine and a new sound, making it the definitive sound engine for electric pianos.

After much trial and error, in 1973 the company announced the release of its first mass-produced synthesizer: the miniKORG 700. Its simple appearance, which belied its ability to produce a variety of sounds beyond imagination, captivated many musicians, who loved its unique and dense tonal quality.
The MiniKORG 700S, an improved version with an additional VCO, was announced the following year and has now been recreated as a software instrument.

Mono/Polypic
picThe Mono/Poly analog synthesizer, released simultaneously with the Polysix in 1981, combined Korg’s previous analog synthesizers into a single, groundbreaking synthesizer. Although it was a monophonic synthesizer with a thick, four-voice sound, it had a groundbreaking specification that allowed it to also be used as a four-voice polyphonic synthesizer, a valuable feature since polyphonic synthesizers were expensive at the time. It was renowned for its versatility in sound creation, using four VCOs (voltage-controlled oscillators) in combination with the Polysix, including oscillator sync and cross-modulation.
While the Mono/Poly V2 in this KORG collection is based on the 2007 Mono/Poly software emulation, it has been refined for modern production environments. Since its release in 2002, the microKORG has been loved by more musicians around the world than any other hardware synth in music history. Following the first generation microKORG, a number of variations were introduced, including the microKORG XL released in 2009 and the microKORG S with 2+1 speakers, as well as many color variations.
The microKORG was born out of a desire to bring the appeal and fun of synthesizers to beginner and professional musicians, track makers, and creators everywhere. Korg easily achieved this goal, creating a wildly successful synthesizer that was not only compact and easy to use but sounded amazing.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its release, the original “microKORG” will be reintroduced as software: microKORG for Mac/Win
