Key Features of AI Masks
New AI Masks features leverage artificial intelligence to instantly create intelligent selections with pixel-perfect precision. Users gain unprecedented flexibility and speed by creating masks in three convenient ways:
Point and Click: Simply point and click on the desired part of the photo.
Draw a frame: Draw a border around the image containing the object and the AI will automatically select it.
Select from preset objects: Instantly select typical elements such as skies, people, faces or hair from a ready-made list.
The list of preset objects offers much more than just quick selection. For example, if a photographer selects “Hair” and applies adjustments to it, these changes can be easily copied and pasted to other images or saved as a preset that takes the selection context into account.
This speeds up complex retouching and ensures consistent results without extra effort.
DxO PhotoLab 9 introduces the ability to apply targeted noise reduction (DeepPRIME) and lens sharpening optimization. This allows users to selectively correct noise in specific areas, such as shadows, or control the sharpness of specific details, such as eyes, while maintaining a soft background.
New masking and selection tools provide detailed control over processing specific areas of an image. Furthermore, DeepPRIME XD3 technology has left beta testing and now supports processing RAW files from all cameras with an X-Trans sensor.
Additional workflow improvements
Other innovations aimed at optimizing the workflow include:
Batch Rename – Allows you to rename multiple files at once.
Advanced preset saving settings – provide more options for creating and using custom styles.
Full support for HEIC/HEIF and ProRAW – provides full processing of images taken on Apple iPhone devices.
