Bass Joins the Family
Vir2 Instruments is proud to introduce Mojo: Upright Bass, a major addition to the Mojo family of instruments. We recorded renowned jazz bassist Stefan “Pist” Bartus on an exquisite 150-year-old double bass on an analog console to create the most advanced and realistic virtual upright bass instrument imaginable.
With six dynamic layers, up to eight circular transitions, eight articulations, five mic positions, true legato, and a host of beautifully crafted presets and MIDI grooves, you can take your standing bass to new heights. Humanize your sound with velocity-sensitive articulation switching for note repeats, superbly authentic vibrato sustain, vibrato simulation based on real vibrato bends, adjustable string buzz, and a suite of effects for complete customization.

Mojo: Upright Bass comes with a set of 20 amazing presets that customize everything from EQ, effects, and mics to humanization. Take your sound to the studio, or the concert hall, or even the distant past! You also have the ability to create and save your own presets.
Instrument Page
The instrument page offers both global and articulation-specific controls. Choose from 20 different presets and dive deep into customizing your vibrato, legato controls, chords, and articulations like performance repeats, percussive and detachable, harmonics, and even percussion! You also get tools like capo, velocity curve control, and humanization.
Performance Page
The Performance page lets you filter the huge selection of custom MIDI performances by category, meter, key, and scale. Styles include Jazz, Blues, Bossa Nova, Latin, Funk, Rockabilly, plus Fills, Endings, and Percussion categories. Use this as inspiration for creating a bass line quickly!
Effects Page
Choose from eight different effects, including EQ, BP Filter, Saturation, Cabs, Compressor, Limiter, Reverb, and Delay. Presets are available for all effects to help you get started quickly. Take your sound from a vintage studio to a cool jazz club or modern concert hall in seconds!
Mixing Page
The Mix Page includes controls for all five mic positions: neck, body close and far, stereo room close and far, and a full mix option (pre-mixes all five mic positions for easier memory loading). Each mic can also be connected to a separate output. The neck mic provides detailed string sound, the body mic provides a fuller bass response, and the body mic adds room tonality. Add room close or room far mics for enhanced performance.
Settings Page
Customize the keyboard layout and change how and where the various articulations and release samples are triggered. Articulations can also be combined into a set of velocities to make the instrument work even more naturally. Integrating the instrument into your workflow has never been easier!
