To record the instruments, Toontrack’s sound design team returned to the same facility where the core library of Superior Drummer 3 and Orchestral Percussion SDX were recorded; Galaxy Studio. Built with unparalleled attention to detail and able to withstand virtually any noise interference from the outside world, this is the epitome of a studio for sampling delicate instruments of this kind.
To provide flexibility for use in everything from full-scale and orchestral to intimate and natural, the setup used to record the two instruments includes an array of 17 individual microphones. The final product uses these microphones to provide ready-made presets showcasing instruments in every imaginable mix, key and color. Additionally, the vibraphone was recorded in both the main hall and the small room of Studio 1, and sampled using hammers and a violin bow, giving you three completely opposite tonal takes. In addition to the instruments themselves, this EKX also includes a core MIDI library, allowing you to start creating from the very beginning.
