SideMinder is a dynamic stereo width amplifier that can increase the width of a stereo track, bus and / or master mix WITHOUT the risk of polarity reversal. SideMinder “listens” to stereo material using anticipatory FIR correlation detectors and dynamically narrows the stereo image precisely if / when a negative correlation begins to occur.
Since the width of the stereo narrows only when a general increase in the width of the stereo is necessary, MONO COMPATIBILITY can be used. This effect cannot be obtained using typical mid / side compression methods, and SideMinder does not alter the overall dynamics of the signal (SideMinder is a “differential limiter,” not a dynamic range limiter).
