The set consists of 4 different pianos:
- Walnut (typical sound);
- Felt;
- Peculiar (special and unique sound);
- Cologne (experimental sound).
We recorded all the articulations as carefully as possible using a variety of different microphone setups, from complex stereo tube/large condenser/ribbon mics to stereo pairs, small condenser mics on the bottom, and contact mics. We then included the three best articulation results in the corresponding piano. We
enhanced each piano with sophisticated processing options, ranging from simple EQs and filters to resonant reverbs, compressors, reverse sounds, and a granular machine.
