T-RackS 6 is the latest generation of the renowned mixing and mastering software from IK. With innovative new modules, improved capabilities, faster workflow and simpler organization, T-RackS 6 delivers legendary sound quality, speed and ease of use, giving musicians, producers and engineers everything they need to create the perfect track.
The company announced the release of the updated version of the IK Multimedia T-RackS 6 music mixing plugin collection on its official website. The set offers 60 instruments, including multi-band saturators, bass and delay processors, filters and other effects.
The developers noted that the last update to the T-RackS set with the addition of new instruments and features took place in 2017, after which the set seemed forgotten. The sixth edition of T-RackS offers a large set of innovations that compensate for the long wait, IK Multimedia said.
In total, the set will include 60 plugins, most of which are based on real studio equipment. The developers note that the set now works around the plugin manager, allowing you to choose which modules will be available in the DAW, in T-RackS 6 itself (when working in standalone mode) and in the Mastering Console plugin.
Most of the developments included in the set are already familiar to users (for example, the collection includes the tape emulator Tape Machine 80, which can be taken for free). Despite this, the company made various changes and improvements to them, fixed errors and adapted the products for modern operating systems. At the same time, eight plug-ins are completely new products:
- Master Match X – a reference analyzer that determines and compares equalization, compression and signal limiting settings with reference tracks.
- Channel Strip X – a flexible effects chain that combines compression, equalization, de-essing and transient processing. The plug-in includes a large collection of presets for individual instruments and channel groups.
- Bass ONE – a low-frequency signal management system for “better control over low frequencies in mixes.”
- Lo-Fi Punch – a lo-fi plug-in that adds warmth and sharpness to the signal, typical of old recordings. Dynamics change and overtone attenuation are used for processing.
- Dual Spring – spring reverb, working in mono and stereo modes. To control the plugin, there are options for the duration of reflections and the ability to artificially “stretch” the effect.
- Delay Lab – a set of delays with a “clean and clear” sound.
- Pusher – a four-band saturator with five operating modes. For each band, you can activate your own type of reverb and control it through envelopes and other parameters.
- Filter Fusion – a set of filters with five types of filtration, one of which is the classic Moog ladder filter.
The developers noted that they have updated the signal metering system for all modules and expanded the capabilities of working with the sidechain. The changes also affected the Mastering Console plugin: the virtual console works as an independent effect, is equipped with a fully customizable metering section and a new master bus, allowing you to make changes to the sound “more effectively.”
