Fracture Sounds – Blueprint Greenhead Chimes (KONTAKT)

Chimes from a children’s playground. The second instrument in our Blueprint series was recorded in Fracture Sounds’ hometown of Huddersfield, at Greenhead Park. The team faced difficulties recording between the quacking of ducks at dusk, but managed to create a library that would influence future creations in Zen: Meditations.

Blueprint: Greenhead Chimes introduces our core Atmosphere layered mixer in Blueprint. This mixer, included in many of our libraries, features three differently processed signals, all based on the original samples. This expands the sonic possibilities of the instrument and makes it instantly inspiring to play.

The library is part of the framework created by the developers of Fracture Sounds, which served as the basis for the pitched percussion in Zen: Meditations.

Interface

  • Increase for more stereo range, decrease to reduce the spread in the dry signal
  • Soften the initial transient of the dry signal – great for creating pads
  • Increase damping to reduce sampling
  • Control the overall level of the built-in reverb with additional settings by clicking on the cog
  • Control 4 different layers. The dry layer is the unprocessed original samples, while the other 3 layers are processed sounds
  • Control the dynamics of the Atmosphere layers only (modulation wheel/CC1)
  • Increase sample start time to decrease latency. Reduce sample start time for more realism. The higher the latency, the right number to use negative delay (pre-delay) in your DAW’s MIDI settings
  • Increase attack response to emphasize the volume difference between a soft and hard attack. Lower the slider to increase the volume of soft dynamics
