Filled with cosmic orchestrations, kitschy organs, tropical percussion, wild guitars, and bright big band brass, this multi-format library will fill your next musical work with the truly crazy sounds of another era.
This collection contains 10 construction kits, carefully arranged and orchestrated in the authentic style of space-age subgenres such as Jet Set Pop, Lounge, Exotica, New Sound, Bossa Nova, Cha Cha, Crime Jazz, Easy Listening and Hi-Fi Bachelor Pad. The library also contains over 600 unique one-shot samples, which are a treasure trove for samplers and hip-hop producers. The content comes in the form of a library of Kontakt instruments, as well as a collection of WAV files. Your spaceship awaits… you can take your martini with you.
Recordings
We have made every effort to record this project as authentically as possible. Working in some of the finest studios in New York City, we have captured the sounds of a classic studio orchestra using the instruments and techniques of the era. The list of classic gear we used includes original Neumann/Telefunken U47 tube mics (3), RCA 44 ribbon mics (3), RCA DX77 ribbon mics (2), Altec and Ampex tube mixers, Pultec EQs, and a Fairchild-style compressor.
Mixes
Each WAV loop comes in two mixes: wet and dry. The Kontakt versions contain wet loops only.
The wet samples are provided as they sound in the context of the full mix, and have been rendered with whatever processing was used to achieve the vintage authentic sound heard in the demos. The processing used may include extreme EQ, harmonic distortion, tape effects, additional reverb or other effects.
Dry samples have a more neutral sonic character. Any extreme effects or additional reverb have been removed or limited, giving the user more freedom to customize the tone to their liking. Please keep in mind that the original raw recordings were intentionally made to sound vintage, so even dry samples may still have noticeable room tone, hiss, microphone noise or other “problem sounding” characteristics.
