Acon Digital released Extract: Dialogue – a plugin that separates speech from standard background noises like wind, rustling, car traffic, hum, clicks and pops. The algorithm works in real time and is based on neural networks trained on a large array of high quality voice and noise recordings. This training allows the program to detect speech without user input, so Extract: Dialogue is extremely easy to use.
Even though noise cancellation is fully automatic, the plugin interface offers simple controls for adjusting the noise detection sensitivity and maximizing noise reduction. The sensitivity can even be independently adjusted in three frequency ranges. Adjusting the maximum attenuation is very convenient when you only want to reduce noise without removing it completely. All parameters are fully automated.
